Abstract:
Digital empowerment has catalyzed a surge in intelligent education reform. This study examines how to cultivate intelligent teaching competencies among physical education(PE)teacher candidates across the curriculum system, faculty structure, and practical training platforms embedded in the talent cultivation programs of eight normal universities in Guangdong Province. Through a combination of online interviews and on-site visits, the research investigates the entire educational process involved in developing such skills. The findings indicate that fostering intelligent teaching skills in PE teacher candidates requires the integration of a human-development-centered approach and technology application into all dimensions of the curriculum system—including objectives, content, implementation, and evaluation. Furthermore, the faculty system should align with competency-based and cross-disciplinary collaborative principles, incorporating necessary knowledge, skills, and professional ethics. In addition, virtual simulation systems and smart micro-teaching classrooms serve as essential intelligent training platforms for nurturing these competencies. Building on these insights, the study proposes several strategies: establishing clear intelligent teaching training objectives, restructuring the intelligent education curriculum, developing an immersive virtual-real integrated training system, and fostering a collaborative community for intelligent teaching development. These recommendations offer both theoretical and practical guidance for optimizing talent cultivation programs in teacher education.
