数字经济与城乡教育均衡发展的空间效应研究——基于人工智能的机制检验

The Spatial Effects of Digital Economy on Urban-Rural Educational Equity: Evidence from the Mechanism of Artificial Intelligence

  • 摘要: 教育现代化是建设教育强国的重要支撑,而数字经济是加快教育现代化、推动城乡教育均衡发展的关键动力。本文基于2011—2023年31个省级面板数据,构建数字经济和城乡教育均衡综合指标,实证检验数字经济与城乡教育均衡的空间溢出效应及其作用机制。数字经济对城乡教育均衡具有显著的空间效应,呈现“本地溢出—邻地虹吸”的空间特征,即数字经济在推动本地城乡教育均衡的同时,可能加剧邻地城乡教育失衡度;空间溢出结果表明,数字经济对本地城乡教育均衡具有正向的空间扩散效应,对邻地城乡教育均衡具有空间回波效应;异质性结果表明,数字经济对城乡教育均衡的本地溢出效应在义务教育优质均衡发展地区和教育公平程度高的地区更显著,而邻地效应则在教育信息化水平高的地区更显著。数字经济对城乡教育均衡存在人工智能机制传导效应。研究结论为优化数字教育资源配置、促进教育现代化提供了重要的理论依据与政策启示。

     

    Abstract: Educational modernization is an essential pillar for building a strong education system, while the digital economy serves as a key driver to accelerate this modernization and promote urban-rural educational equity. Based on panel data of 31 provincial-level regions in China from 2011 to 2023, this study constructs composite indices of the digital economy and urban-rural educational equity, and empirically examines the spatial spillover effects of the digital economy and its transmission mechanisms. The results show that the digital economy exerts significant spatial effects on urban-rural educational equity, presenting a "local spillover-neighboring siphon" pattern. Specifically, while the digital economy fosters educational equity within a region, it may exacerbate educational disparities in neighboring areas. Further analysis indicates that the digital economy produces positive spatial diffusion effects locally, but generates spatial echo effects in adjacent regions. Heterogeneity tests reveal that the local spillover effect is more pronounced in regions with high-quality compulsory education and higher levels of educational fairness, whereas the neighboring effects are stronger in regions with higher levels of educational information. Moreover, artificial intelligence plays an important mediating role in the impact of the digital economy on urban-rural educational equity. These conclusions remain robust under a series of alternative specifications. The findings provide important theoretical foundations and policy insights for optimizing the allocation of digital education resources and advancing educational modernization.
