Abstract:
The reform and innovation of scientific research in finance and economics universities constitute a systematic project involving multi-dimensional factors. It benefits from national policy support and the demands of socio-economic development, while also encountering significant opportunities due to the deep empowerment of emerging technologies such as generative artificial intelligence. However, the reform also faces numerous challenges, including the solidified barriers to disciplinary development, the challenge of insufficient research sustainability("lying flat"mentality), the loosely organized guarantee mechanisms for scientific research, and the difficulties in the deep integration of AI and social sciences. Under the background of New Liberal Arts construction, finance and economics universities should focus on drawing lessons from successful experiences of domestic and international institutions, actively explore paths for research reform, and systematically advance the construction of high-ground scientific research. This can be achieved by repositioning the function of research, improving systems and mechanisms, building a high-quality research ecology, strengthening organized research, empowering with AI for Social Science, and stimulating new research momentum. These efforts will effectively drive the substantive transition of the university from a teaching-application-oriented to a teaching-research-oriented institution, thereby cultivating higher-quality modern finance and economics talents to better serve the high-quality development of the national and regional economy and society.
